This study aims to look into the later life preparation behavior and the influence of the leisure perception and conjugal relationship at present on the later life preparation behavior and thereby reveal that sound leisure patterns can lead to better later years. The study investigated the current state of late middle aged adults in regard to preparation for elderly years. The subjects of the study are composed of 244 men and women, who are between the ages of 40 and 59, and living in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Data collected were encoded, and the validity and reliability of the data were analyzed. The correlation and coefficient and multiple regression analysis were carried out with variables. Here are the main conclusions. First, leisure perception of middle-aged people was found to influence shared leisure time, communication and affection between the husband and wife, commitment, and the sense of responsibility. However, it did not influence the division of household chores, In short, Leisure perception was found to encourage communication between the husband and wife and thus generate affection, commitment and a sense of responsibility. Second, conjugal relationships created a meaningful change to physical and psychological well-being and preparation behavior for later life from economic and leisure aspects, proving that affectionate couple relationships are critical in later life preparations.
