Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop the scale of universal retirement preparation for successful aging not only to measure the scale of successful retirement of the elderly, but also to comprehensively grasp the present state of retirement preparation for successful retirement in the future, and to identify the important factors for the development of universal retirement preparation scale as a first-stage basic study.
Method: In this study, a systematic literature review was conducted to find out important factors of a successful retirement. In order to review the literature, academic information retrieval was conducted in RISS, KISS, DBpia, NDSL, and e-article. The final seven research papers matching the purpose of the study were used for analysis. After that, all the questions were analyzed and disassembled into texts, and a database for document analysis was constructed through a first-order coding process. And then, important factors were derived through the process of classifying -> categorizing -> composition concept by content analysis method which is an inductive analysis method.
Results: As a result of the research, the major factors that are necessary for successful aging were the relationship, health, leisure and preparation factors. In addition, the factors that are important for all ages were physical health, family relations, economics, and psychological health.
Conclusion: Based on these results, this study shows the importance and tendency between the generations through the development of questionnaires related to ‘relationship factors’, ‘health factors’, ‘leisure factors’ and ‘preparation factors’ for the future retirement preparation scale. And, it is considered to be necessary to study the development of a universal retirement preparation scale for successful aging which could confirm the level of retirement preparation.
