On the Meaning-Structure and Speaker's Style of the SeogyeongbyulgokHeu, Wang-WookThe Seogyeongbyulgok(西京別曲) was a classical poem accompanied with dancing and playing musical instruments. This poem was played in the royal palace of the Jo-sun dynasty. This poem was performanced by some feat singers, dancers, and musicians. This poem was performanced in a special situation, an national ancestor-worship ceremony. We can see the performance-style and meaning -structure of this poem through the old musical documents, a Siyonghyangakbo. In this essay, I can make clear some issue points as follows.1) The poem has various lingering sounds, as ‘aseulga’, ‘nanan’, ‘yui’ and ‘dueorungsyungdaringdiri’ etc. These lingering sounds show that this poem was performanced with multifarious musical instruments. 2) The meaning-structure of this poem must be analysised by four nodes. Each of 4 nodes has different voice or speaker's attitudes. 3) This essay suggest to distinct poetic ego as a narrated object and speaker as a narrating subject. And it is nacessary that we distinct inner speaker as a narrator and outer speaker as a person of performance. 4) The 4th node of this poem represents outer speaker's subjective emotion or intention. At this point, this essay suggest that the actor of the 4th node is not a lover, but a mass singers.5) This essay organized the performance's form of this poem with contents written in the Siyonghyangakbo and details discussed in this text. Through this organizing process, we can find that the meaning- structure of this poem is textured with conversational and multifarious style.
