The purpose of this paper is to look into a professional Translation classroom to evaluate its nature not only for Translation education but also for its implications for English education. The Translation Method that is adopted in Translation class has not been properly evaluated in regards to its value for language teaching. While its main focus is to explore ways to transfer texts between different languages, it is also greatly concerned with the study of language, as any act of Translation is not possible without it. When it is carefully reviewed in terms of the view of language,the roles of the teacher and students, classroom activities, and evaluation, it may be evaluated to be closer to the Communicative Language Teaching Approach than the Grammar-Translation Method, with great potential to be well accepted in a class teaching English as a foreign language.
