The purpose of this research is to explore how the ruling elites groups are related to tribalism in the United Arab Emirates in the politics, religious, and military spheres. For this, this study analyzes who constitutes the elites group in each field and their characteristics. Among the three subjects, this study especially focuses on the military elites (the results of the former two subjects were already published in other articles), exploring who forms the members of the current military elites in the UAE, how they have achieved the position, and finally what role has tribalism played as a background. The result of the study shows that tribalism has a great influence over the formation of military elites in the United Arab Emirates, as shown in the former studies of political and religious elites. Even though the Sheikhs of each Sheikhdoms in the United Arab Emirates recognize the significance of the federal government, they request resource control power and military independence as a source of power. The constitution of the United Arab Emirates also clearly states that it guarantees the two rights of the Sheikhdoms. In other words, the powerful two tribals of Abu Dahbi and Dubai control the United Arab Emirates, each Sheikdoms enjoy their sovereign power in economic and military fields under the guarantee of the constitution. Based on rapid economic growth, the United Arab Emirates holds a significance position in the military security, not only in the Gulf area but also in the whole Arab world. Currently, the United Arab Emirates undergoes the dntersification of the military cooperation and it needs our persistent attention in both academic and practical level.
