This essay aims to explore constructive, practical suggestions from the perspective of John Westerhoff III (1933 – present) for the educational ministry of G Church dominated in the schooling-instructional model. Westerhoff’s model emphasizes the faith community at the heart of Christian education. On the basis, this article makes a brief overview and examines a growing concern about the children’s educational ministry at G Church. It also investigates crucial components of Westerhoff’s community of faith-enculturation paradigm, which widens the context of Christian education and concentrates on every part of life in the faith community. Exploring the relevance of Westerhoff’s paradigm in the context of G Church, it makes helpful, practical suggestions that contribute
to the educational ministry of G Church, such as a sense of belonging, purposeful interaction, the hidden curriculum for leadership and relationship, the blended worship services, and faith-building storytelling. Westerhoff’s model teaches how G Church should faithfully carry on the work of the educational ministry for children through the faith community approach to Christian education.
