Objectives : This study investigated the relationship between individual stage of health behavior and Internet health information usage. Methods : Measure items were derived from the previous research including 7 demographic and social factors. Data were collected from employees working in a public and nation-wide organization, and users of two website about health and disease information. The 281 cases were analyzed by using SPSS 14.0. Results : The results are as follows: When respondents feel some symptoms or inconvenience, they search Internet health information for self-care(36.3%) and confirming disease(36.3%). Users in preventive health behavior stage are searching Internet health information are 18.5%. Monthly income was revealed as significantly related with Internet health information search and usage. Internet health information users who have income less than 1 million won per month were more to 'maintain health', and users with 1-3 million won monthly income were more to 'identify disease', and users with more than 300 million won per month were to 'self-care. Users being in preventive health behavior stage are significantly higher than those of the other stages. Healthy users of Internet health/disease information are active users of Internet information to preparing healthy life. Conclusions : Internet health/disease informations may be retrieved and used to maintain health, identify disease, and self-care. Specifically, we should have attention to the healthy people to be more active and to prevent disease, and make and provide health information to the needs of these people through Internet.
