This study explored yeast diauxic promotersusing a gren fluorescent protein (GFP) reporter to screengrowth phase-controled promoters applicable for foreignprotein production. Twenty-five diauxic promoters wereinserted into a yeast 2-micron vector in front of the reportershowed that 23 out of the 25 promoters produced a significantfluorescent signal when the cells were in the diauxic growthphase. Among the two strongest promoters pYDL204W andpYLR258W, the former remained constantly active after itsactivation at the diauxic shift, whereas the latter was onlytransiently activated right after the deprivation of the mediumglucose.
