The objectives of this study are to develop supply chain management index of Korean exporters and to verify gaps in the levels of supply chain management among the types of business. To achieve the objectives, this study develops measuring items through prior research, and the survey was performed to Korean exporters, followed by 111 data. Reliability and validity analyses were performed to the data, and a multivariate analysis of variance was also performed for testing the hypothesis. The results are as followed. First, managers need to confirm their supply chain management index. The confirmation, at present, is based on comparing the average of the firm with the whole average of Korean exporters and comparing the index of the firm with the index among the types of business. Second, managers need to structure international business strategy based on the index. At present, Korean exporters export goods to the world market and in addition, they produce goods in abroad, manage the systems in Korea, and sell the goods to the world market. From the viewpoint, they need to confirm the index and as a result, they need to structure global supply chain management strategy.
