본 연구는 뇌졸중환자 보호자 집단과 골절환자 보호자 집단 간의 스트레스 및 심리상태를 비교하였다. 연구기간은 2018년 9월부터 12월까지 였으며, 뇌졸중환자 보호자 60명과 골절환자 보호자 61명을 대상으로 하였다. 스트레스와 심리상태를 평가하기 위해 각각 한국형 스트레스인자 지각척도와 간이정신진단검사를 이용하였다. 연구결과 뇌졸중환자 보호자 집단이 골절환자 보호자 집단에 비해 대인관계, 대인관계변화, 질병 및 상해, 경제문제, 일상생활 변화 유무 항목에서 스트레스가 높았다. 또한 심리상태에서는 신체화, 대인민감성, 우울, 불안, 편집증, 정신증 항목에서 뇌졸중환자 보호자의 심리상태가 저하되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 뇌졸중환자 보호자에 대한 정신건강의 저하를 확인할 수 있었으며, 향후 뇌졸중환자 보호자를 위한 맞춤형 정신건강 지원 프로그램의 개발 및 적용이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
