This study derives implications through the study on the characteristics of negotiation strategy between communist and democratic camps around the Korean Peninsula, and seeks our response strategy in the future. For this purpose, the focus is on comparing and analyzing the armistice negotiations during the Korean War and the negotiation strategies in the process of pursuing North Korea’s denuclearization. The focus of the analysis on negotiation behavior is the willingness to negotiate for the benefit of the country, the leverage of strong power, and the negotiation strategy that embodies the drawdown. As a result of the Korean War armistice negotiations, boring negotiations focused on the front line near the 38th parallel in the confrontation between the powerful US, China, South Korea, and North Korea. In the recent process of denuclearization of North Korea, North Korea's cliff edge, delay, and warfare strategy, US pressure and appeasement strategy, and South Korea's cooperation and promotion strategy were featured. Regarding this, there are many similarities between the negotiating behaviors of the communist and free sides during the Korean War, the recent negotiations between North Korea and the United States due to the recent denuclearization of North Korea, and the approaching behavior of South Korea and neighboring countries. Based on this, in this study focuses on establishing a future outlook for negotiations on denuclearization of North Korea and our desired strategy for countermeasures.
