This paper examines how the PCA responded to growing Darwinism, focusing on the report of the Creation Study Committee reported to the 2000 General Assembly. We have found several notable points in the PCA"s response to Darwinism. First, the PCA formed a special committee to study on creation to find perspectives those were consistent with the Westminster Confession of Faith. Second, through historical consideration of creation, four representative views of creation that the PCA can accept were established. The four views were the calendar-day interpretation, the day-age interpretation, the framework interpretation, and the analogical days interpretation. Third, the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of the four views of creation were explained in detail. Fourth, the PCA tried to grasp the original intent of the Westminster General Assembly on “in the space of six days,” and took an inclusive position. The PCA"s view of creation is based on a supernatural worldview and rejects the theory of evolution. However, the PCA accepts a variety of interpretive perspectives as long as the full historicity of the creation account is accepted.
