Chiral liquid crystal (LC) phases show many interesting structural and optical properties when uniaxially oriented. Among the various chiral LC phases, the helical nanofilament (HNF) phase has many potentials to be applied in practical chiro-optical applications due to its mechanical and thermal stability than conventional chiral nematic LC phases.
