The purpose of this study is to investigate the attributes of dancesport as performing arts in creativity and artistry by applying dance that requires body movements as a type of performing arts. For this purpose, the investigator classified creative attributes into body movements, contacts, and communication and artistic ones into expression, harmony, and music.
The findings were as follows: first, dancesport have the creative attributes of making contacts with others via the tool of body movements, creating an energy flow, and getting reborn in a new form through communication in the acts of creation; and secondly, dancesport have the artistic attributes of the performer expressing his or her inner side externally, requiring harmony with him or herself or his or her partner, and working as an essential element not separable from music.
Given these findings that there is no difference between dance and dancesport in creative and artistic attributes, it is clear that dancesport at this stage has the possibilities of changing and developing as performing arts just like dance that has maintained its vitality as art that keeps being created in the field of performing arts.
