This study attempted to examine which training method has a positive influence on learning flow and learning satisfaction between smart learning-based makeup training and live demonstration-based makeup training against college students majoring in cosmetology with a goal of finding a better training program for such adult learners.
For this, makeup training was given to a total of 62 adult learners from ‘T’ College in Busan, majoring in cosmetology on March 30 and April 1, 2021. They were divided into two different groups: experimental group (32 people, smart learning-based training given with a smart device), control group (30 people, live demonstration-based training given). The collected data were analyzed, using SPSS 24.0, and the results found the followings:
First, in terms of cognitive commitment and behavioral commitment, smart learning-based makeup training was higher than live demonstration-based training. The overall learning flow was also higher in smart learning.
Second, in terms of learners’ satisfaction, smart learning was higher than live demonstration.
Third, in smart learning-based makeup training, affective commitment had a positive influence on learning satisfaction. In live demonstration-based training, cognitive commitment revealed a positive effect on learning satisfaction.
The above results confirm that for adult learners from cosmetology colleges, learning flow and learning satisfaction are high in smart learning-based makeup training.
