This paper investigates the argument structure of ca-verbs in Korean. Ca-verbs are created by combining Sino-Korean ca-compounds and the verbalizing suffix -ha ‘do’. They are divided into transitive and intransitive categories based on their ability to take an object. In this study, we concentrate on the intransitive type with particular interest in whether or not they need to be further distinguished as unaccusative and unergative. We show that the behaviors of seemingly unaccusative ca-verbs align them with clear cases of unergatives, arriving at a unified analysis of intransitive ca-verbs.
