Literature and journalism are deeply related. At the beginning of journalism education at American universities, most of the lectures were part of the English Literature Curriculum. New journalism has emerged as a new trend in the U.S. media community in the end of the 20th century. New Journalism encouraged writing literary articles. Literature therapy may be the best methodology when studying newspaper columns that have influenced the formation of public opinion in modern society. Above all, we can get away from the superficial explanation of the phenomenon of journalism and look into the depth of journalists and media activities. Social scientific analysis of the media focused on editorial trends, ideological analysis, and factionalism by dividing certain media and journalists into conservatives and progressives. Meanwhile, literary therapy analysis examines deep-seated epic by recognizing journalists and their writings as writers and works. The Chosun Ilbo's Kim Dae joong column, which has influenced the formation of public opinion in Korean society, recognized the dominant order as unchanging. Having distorted the 5ㆍ18 People's Uprising and the IMF bailout situation, he is confident that he has always criticized power. However, the analysis of literary therapy can also highlight the monitoring power of the media. Unlike social science analysis, literary therapy analysis can provide a “treatment opportunity” for journalists to humanly reflect on their “work”. Journalist Kim Dae joong prides himself on monitoring the fault of power. However, his appearance in literary therapy is different. He adapts himself to the strongest dominant order, and has been Consistently encouraged readers to reinforce obedience-epic. Readers can also point out whether they are unknowingly reinforcing obedience-epic when reading journalists' prose. As the era in which everyone engages in media activities opens, everyone is actively participating in literary expression and communication. The social epic of literary therapy can be a useful concept for media activities.
