The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of mothers’ parenting behavior and communication on their children’s media device addiction and the effect of moderating peer attachment. The subjects were from the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC), and we performed data analysis on 578 subjects, and employed SPSS 25.0 to conduct frequency, percentage, and reliability analysis. For each of the study questions, we conducted correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, and stepwise regression analysis. The results were: First, there was a positive correlation between the mothers’ parenting behavior and their children’s media device addiction. And there was a negative correlation between media device addiction as perceived by mothers, communication, and peer attachment. Second, we showed that the mothers’ parenting behavior was a factor affecting their children’s media device addiction. Third, we showed that the mothers’ communication was also a factor affecting their children’s media device addiction. Last, the effect of the mothers’ parenting behavior and communication regarding their children’s media device addiction showed a moderating effect of peer attachment.
