The aim of this study was to determine the effect of manganese to enhance the growth and survival rate of ammonia-reducing microorganisms. In addition, the inhibitory activity against ammonia-producing bacteria (E. coli) present in livestock manure was evaluated. The optimal concentration of manganese was established through the growth of Pediococcus acidilactici L12Ⅰ and 12Ⅲ at time point 0, 12 hour which has been proven by the ammonia reduction activity in livestock manure.
