The purpose of this study is to develop and implement an integrated education program that combines math and dance for middle school students. It is also to verify its effectiveness and to suggest desirable directions for the development of an integrated education. The subjects for this study were 27 students who were purposively selected at a middle school which is located in Seodaemun-Gu, Seoul. The program was divided into two periods and conducted once a week through 16 weeks. Before proceeding the integrated education program, pretest was conducted to determine students’ perception of math and dance. And posttest was conducted after each 8 classes. In order to find out the change in students’ perception of the program and specific educational outcomes, t-test and marginal homogeneity test were conducted. The t-test results for the total scores were statistically significant difference with t = 5.703 (p <.05), and posttest showed higher score than pretest. Meanwhile, In the periphery homogeneity test, post-test showed a higher response rate than pre-test as in the T-test, but some items showed no statistically significant difference. The results showed that the integrated education program combined with math and dance not only motivates participants to learn, but also has meaning in forming positive thinking and attitudes toward their subjects. Through students used math in dance, they perceived connection between math and dance, and improved communication skills. In addition, there were specific achievements such as developing creative thinking skills, constructing outputs, leading the learning, cooperation in problem solving process, enthusiasm to learning, and empathy. On the other hand, the items such as ‘continuous confidence’, ‘systematic thinking’, ‘express verbal and non-verbal expressions’ showed a high positive response rate, but there were no statistically significant difference. In order to realize desirable integrated dance education, it should be constructed various cases of interdisciplinary integration of dance In addition, there are need for proper time allocation and operation, discovery of teaching media and tools, and provision of integrated educational training opportunities.
