The aim of this article is to examine the actual situation of Sino-Korean based on the romanization, degree of reflection of change and variation of Sino-Korean written in Ridel (1880), Underwood (1890), Scott (1891) and Gale (1897). And I'd like to understand the degree of normality of these bilingual dictionary based on Sino-Korean. To do this study I used the following criterion like reflection of palatalization of lingual sounds, notation of /ㅛ, ㅑ, ㅠ, ㅕ/ and /ㅗ, ㅏ, ㅜ, ㅓ/ under sibilance, reflection of change of /ㆍ/ and reflection of round vowelization, etc. As a result, Ridel (1880) reflected the appearance of realistic Sino-Korean but other bilingual dictionaries showed a strong pattern of standardization. This standardization was based on Jeonunokpyeon (全韻玉篇). The reason for this is that presenting the normalized Sino-Korean helps foreigners' learning Korean or Bible translation, etc. The bilingual dictionary with the strongest normality is Gale (1897) of these bilingual dictionary. But Gale tried to revise the spelling system easy to use in 1902. And Ji Seokyeong narrowed the distance from the real language by simplifying the notation of Sino-Korean to match the real language in Jajeonseokyo (字典釋要) but Kukhanmunsinokpyeon (國漢文新玉篇) and Sinjajeon (新字典) still retained the framework of normativity as they are still in Jeonunokpyeon (全韻玉篇). It seems that thjs conflicting aspect is in accordance with a whether the editor of dictionary of Chinese characters thought realistic Sino-Korean was important or situation of written language was important. In this regard, it is necessary to consider further and draw conclusions.
