The purpose of this research is to explore the assistant pastor’ life and culture in Korean church. The results of analysis can lead us to understand the inner reality of assistant pastor’ experiences or cultures and interaction between members and administrators of church in the complicated Korean churches. To achieve the goal of this research, total 20 research participants (Male: 16, Female: 4) were selected. They have at least two or more years of ministries experiences in their churches. Also, selected denominations are Hapdong, Kosin and Hapsin. This study is conducted during three months through Focus Group Interview(FGI) with assistant pastor and through an analysis of the qualitative materials which are the data from indepth interviews, field notes and observations, all of which is analyzed by NVivo, that is one of CAQDAS(Computer-Aided Qualitative Data Analysis Software). NVivo has been popular a data analysis method nowadays because it provides clear data analysis with regard to how they interview, how they question the participants and how they analyze the qualitative materials. This qualitative method effectively focuses on assistant pastor’ life and cultur in church process. Based on these contexts, I identified the critical factors of assistant pastor’ life and culture and meaning of symbolic activity and pattern in church, the results of this study are as follows. First of all, culture of heavy 한국교회 내 부교역자들의 삶과 문화에 대한 문화기술지(Ethnography) 연구｜377 work, Second, economic difficulties and dilemma, Third, performance pressure and stress of assistant pastor, Forth, culture of Monday as holidays, Fifth, culture of suffer patiently in church and relationship, Sixth, Culture of competition and conflict within assistant pastor, Finally, Identity formation through initial experience and relationship. These results, sugget that expanded the width of the understanding of assistant pastor' life and a fundamental data and source for configuring a policy strategy.
