This paper presents a methodology for analyzing multimodal text including cultural contents such as cartoons and movies as well as language through mechanisms of cognitive semantics.
It also talks about the method and degree of personification through cognitive semantics. The cognitive mechanisms used in the paper were categorical metaphors, conceptual metaphors, image schemas, and conceptual blending.
The methodology presented in this paper is still in its begining and macroscopic. Therefore, more cases should be analyzed and supplemented. However, this paper can prepare a methodology for interdisciplinary research and different styles from linguistics. In addition, it is expected that the development of the theory can be used in various fields such as game translation, webtoon translation, textbook development, advertisement analysis, and newspaper analysis.
