The purpose of this study is to identify factors that influence the safety consciousness of university liberal Physical Education students. 325 liberal arts and sports students from five universities located in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Gangwon-do were surveyed, and frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach"s a, and multiple regression analysis were used for sample data using SPSS25.0.
As a result of the study, the factors of independent variables at the social and individual levels showed positive effects on safety knowledge, safety values, and safety infrastructure except for safety infrastructure, and explanatory power was 42.1% (R²=.421, 25.9%) and 59.1% (R²=.591), respectively.
This study presents the following conclusions. First, among the factors influencing safety knowledge, sub-factors of safety awareness, the safety atmosphere and safety education experience showed significant effects. Second, among the factors influencing safety values, sub-factors of safety awareness, safety systems and safety education experiences showed significant effects. Third, among the factors influencing safety practice behavior, a sub-factor of safety awareness, the safety atmosphere and safety education experience showed significant effects.
