The objective of the present study is to verify the relationship between class participation, activity satisfaction, and physical expression ability of middle school students in creative dance classes using small tools. The subjects of the study were selected from the 1st and 2nd graders of I Middle School in Jeollabuk-do in which dance classes were provided. The total number was 425 composed of 200 male students and 225 female ones. For the collected data, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson"s correlation analysis, and regression analysis were performed using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS programs.
As a result, first, it was found that there was a significant positive correlation between class participation, activity satisfaction, and physical expression ability. Second, the middle school students" participation in creative dance classes utilizing small tools turned out to have a significant positive effect on their activity satisfaction. In other words, it could be seen that the higher the class participation, the higher the activity satisfaction. Third, the analyses found that the activity satisfaction of middle school students with the creative dance class using props had a significant positive influence upon their physical expression ability. That is to say that the higher the activity satisfaction, the higher the physical expression ability. Fourth, the middle school students" participation in creative dance class employing small tools had a significant positive effect on their physical expression ability. To say again, the higher the class participation, the higher the physical expression ability.
Fifth, it was learned from the analyses that the activity satisfaction played a significant mediating role in the relationship between class participation and physical expression ability.
