The magazine "Sight and Sound" selected "Vertigo" as the best movie of 2012. Alfred Hitchcock is one of the best managers of all time. Among his works, Vertigo is the greatest masterpiece. Although it is a suspense genre, what makes <Vertigo> special is that it expresses the inner side of the main character more delicately than other suspense films. Scotty"s changing psychology is expressed through various film techniques. The expressed image is like a poem.
There are two aspects to the movie "vertigo ". First, this is what happens when Scotty climbs high. Second, it stems from Scotty"s fantasy of Madeline. The second vertigo can be seen as Scotty"s emotion, another desire.
<Vertigo> focuses on "emotions" and "images". The directing technique is "subjective editing" consisting of "viewpoint shots" and "reaction shots". This technique identifies Scotty and the audience. Scotty"s psychological change can be seen in the following three scenes. The first trailing scene takes an objective stance on Madeleine. The second scene becomes interested in Madeleine and focuses on her. The third is the appearance of being fascinated by Madeleine. Hitchcock created the image using multiple colors. In particular, green symbolizes Madeleine and was used as a color to symbolize fantasy. Scotty"s inner change can also be seen in the way he is wearing a green sweater.

The strong psychological portrayal of the first half of the film was an important part in strengthening the development and suspense of the second half.
