본 연구의 목적은 일시적인 스트레스 상황에서 순간적 주의 소실(attentional blink, AB)을 확인하여 외상 경험 후 정서와 주의의 관련성을 밝히는 것이었다. 재난뉴스 동영상 시청 유무에 따라, 신속 순차시각 제시 과제(Rapid Serial Visual Presentation, RSVP)를 실시하여 차이점을 확인해보았다. 연구 결과, 뉴스 위협 자극 조건일 때는 차이가 없었으나, T1에 뉴스 중립 자극이 제시되면 집단 간 AB의 양상이 달라졌다. 즉, 실험군에서 T1에 뉴스 중립 단어가 제시될 때만 AB 양상이 나타났다. 이는 T1이 뚜렷한 외상 자극일 때 강한 AB가 나타나지만, T1이 조건화 된 외상 자극일 때는 사전 외상 경험 유무에 따라 AB 양상이 달라짐을 시사한다.
