The purpose of current study was to measure the dynamic balance of college male basketball players and football players through stability platform, and measure the static balance through Single-leg stance test and thus to reveal the differences of balances among them. The participants of this experiment included 8 basketball players (M age=23.8, SD=1.8) and 7 football players (M age=23.1 , SD=2.0)from college sports club. All participants were tested for dynamic and static balance by virtue of stabilometer and Single-leg stance Test methods. In stabilometer test, each participant performed 6 trials and each trials is 30 seconds. In the static balance Single-leg stance test, each participant performed two tests on each foot. The result found that basketball players were more superior than football players in dynamic balance, the right leg static balance of football players manifested the most superiority among all test groups and the static balance of dominant leg was better than that of non dominant leg in these two sports. These findings revealed the differences in balance between college amateur basketball and football players, and the lower extremity kinematic asymmetry was confirmed again. It was suggested that college amateur football and basketball players balance training to make lower limb balance more symmetrical to prevent injury.
