This study attempted to investigate the effects of the use of social media on the reliability of beauty information and self-esteem among adolescents. In terms of changes in the reliability of beauty information through the use of social information, as the time of social media use, the number of social media acquaintances and beauty information check count increase, the reliability of beauty information was higher. According to an analysis of the relationship between the use of social media and self-esteem, overall self-esteem and social selfesteem by subordinate factors were relatively high when Twitter was primarily used. When the number of friends on social media was 60 or higher, self-esteem, personal self-esteem as a sub factor and social self-esteem increased. In terms of interest in beauty information through social media, as the interest was relatively higher, overall self-esteem, personal self-esteem as a sub factor and social self-esteem were high. In terms of the practicality of beauty information, as it was deemed practical, overall self-esteem, personal self-esteem as a sub factor, family self-esteem and social self-esteem were high. According to a simple regression analysis designed to determine the effects of the reliability of beauty information on self-esteem, as the information was more reliable, personal self-esteem, family selfesteem and social self-esteem increased.
