The purpose of this study is to explore the motives of participation sport tourism. The study reviewed prior literature including related reports and journal papers in the field of sport, tourism, and sport tourism. The results indicated that motives for participation sport tourism consisted of internal factor, external motive, and socio-relational benefits. The study further identified twenty-two sub motives for respective motivational factors. For internal factor, thrill, rush, overcoming fear, control, skill, achievement, fitness, risk, sensation seeking, competition, escape, relaxation, novelty seeking, and nostalgia were found. External factor included nature, art, and attraction. Friendship, self-image, enriching life, spiritual experience, and ritual were found to reflect socio-relational benefit. Contributions of the study and future research were discussed.
