This study was conducted to suggest a way to mitigate job insecurity of hotel workers by setting human capital and social capital, which are variables that employees can be involved in, as causative variables of job insecurity. In addition, social capital was divided into bonding social capital and bridging social capital according to the characteristics of the network, and these were used as variables to control the effect of human capital on job insecurity. The empirical study was conducted with 369 hotel workers in Seoul. As a result of the study, human capital had a negative effect on job insecurity, but bonding social capital had no effect on job insecurity. Also, the interaction between human capital and bonding social capital did not affect job insecurity, indicating that bonding social capital does not control the effect of human capital on job insecurity. However, bridging social capital had a negative effect on job insecurity, and the interaction between human capital and bridging social capital also had a negative effect on job insecurity. Therefore, bridging social capital appeared to moderate the effect of human capital on job insecurity. This research design expanded the scope of research on the causal variables of job insecurity, and suggested practical implications that hotels and workers can do to reduce job insecurity of hotel workers.
