Dancers have a special ability to recognise their body sensation and give meaning to it to the external through movements. For dancers, the body is their life itself that contains the accumulated their own inner experience of the past and the present. Therefore, a research related to the body has a special meaning for dancers. What structural characteristics does the cognition of dancers have? This study enquires the sustainability and advanced evolution of dancers’ cognition, it investigates the characteristics of dancers’ movement and bodily sensory through the concept of autopoiesis, which emphasises the organisation of a closed but structurally open system, including ecological interaction as dancers’ bodily basis cognitive structure. Therefore, this study aims to expand the research on dancer's cognition by analysing the structural characteristics of bodily knowledge and recognition as an internal production network with self-producing capacity and examining the constancy and expansion of dancer's cognition based on the enactivism and neuroscience theory. Firstly, in order to discuss the essential characteristics of dancer body recognition, the relationship between body and cognition is considered with the concept of autopoiesis to structure dancers’ bodily basis cognition. Secondly, the body-environment-brain interrelationship is analysed based on the concept of autopoiesis, and the cognitive development structure of dancers is considered. Thirdly, it examines the boundary production that is inconsistent with the autonomous characteristics of cognition, analyse the expanded cognition of dancers, and discusses the cognition of dancers' enactive autopoiesis.
