The first purpose of this study was to investigate the operating case of wheelchair basketball league system in foreign countries and management status of other sports league system. Based on this result, the second purpose of this study was to examine the appropriateness and the realistic possibility of Korea wheelchair basketball league system, and to suggest the management plan of it. For the completion of this study, the principal investigator has visited Spain, Italy, and Turkey in order to investigate the current system of the wheelchair basketball leagues. On the other hand, in case of USA and Canada interview with a executive of wheelchair basketball league by e-mailing has been used whereas international student from Korea has been used to investigate it. In addition, the literature review in England and Japan has been used to collect data on wheelchair basketball league. From this investigation, the management plans for Korea wheelchair basketball league have been suggested. First, the Korea wheelchair basketball league should be independently managed. Second, the organization chart of Korea Wheelchair Basketball League should be based on the organization chart model of Korea Basketball League. Third, in first established year 6 teams should be appropriate in view of the athletic performance level in case of the management plans of teams and league. Fourth, Korea Wheelchair Basketball League needs main sponsor and donation to secure the independent finances. Fifth, Korea Wheelchair Basketball League should cooperate with other professional sport league in Korea. It may be essential to cooperate with cooperating organizations in order to settle down as early as possible. It may result in assistance for the vitalizations of disability sport in Korea. Lastly, diversification on policy support in the public relations and marketing should be required.
