The Baiku Yao minority possesses a unique costume culture formed by a rich historical, societal, and environmental heritage. Random stimulation is a method used to trigger new ideas by identifying the relationship between seemingly unrelated objects and connecting them. This study aims to develop a modern approach to creative pattern design by applying the random stimulation method to the traditional clothing patterns of the Baiku Yao minority. Research methods include literature reviews, case reviews, and design product development. The clothing patterns of the Baiku Yao minority were combined with the colors, graphics, and lines of selected images from Peking Opera masks to produce six original pattern designs. This process provides a new source of original clothing design that reinterprets traditional elements and imbues them with a sense of modernity. This approach to pattern development using the random stimulation method is expected to be increasingly utilized in garment design.
