The purpose of this study is to propose a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach to developing an L2 writing course capitalizing on a metaverse platform. To achieve this purpose, this study reviewed a range of L2 writing studies that employed PBL in their research contexts to understand their implications and challenges. Concurrently, the study investigated the potential of the metaverse platform by examining existing research studies in related fields, such as English education and writing. Additionally, the metaverse platform was devised with ZEP, one of the most popular and user-friendly metaverse platforms. This study demonstrated how to leverage the platform for an L2 writing classroom. For its limited, yet practical use, the researcher conducted writing feedback activities, thus asking students to disclose their PBL writing experiences within the metaverse platform. Thus, this study developed and suggested PBL writing instruction within a metaverse platform to enhance students" learning experiences in L2 writing.
