This study aims to analyze the simulated instruction situation of master’s students majoring in international Chinese education in Chinese universities. Through the analysis of teaching plans, courseware and teaching implementation process, this study discusses the problems faced by pre-service teachers in teaching design and implementation, and then puts forward improvement suggestions to promote the sustainable development of international Chinese pre-service teachers.It is found that the undergraduate professional background of pre-service teachers is often inconsistent with the professional direction, and it is difficult to build a solid educational theoretical foundation in the professional theoretical courses. In the process of simulated instruction, the pre-service teachers have exposed many problems, such as lagging teaching idea, weak knowledge of educational theory and insufficient teaching ability.
This study suggests strengthening the integration of cultural education into international Chinese education courses, adding specialized courses related to education, and enhancing teaching practice to improve the teaching design and practical teaching abilities of pre-service teachers. This study conducted an in-depth analysis of real simulated instruction materials for pre-service teachers, which can provide empirical evidence for the professional development of international Chinese teachers in the future.
