This study is about the teaching life of kindergarten teachers according to early childhood education policies and is a qualitative research to examine the contexts of experiences according to the changes of early childhood education policies in our country through the teaching life of 25 to 30 year old experienced public kindergarten teachers.
This study has a research objective to identify the experiences of public kindergarten teachers about the changes and development in details by in-depth spotlighting their teaching life according to the changes of early childhood education policies in our country.
For this study, 15 public kindergarten teachers in Gyeongnam province were selected as research subjects with a deliberate sample extraction strategy.
Data were collected with the acceptance from participating study subjects and following narrative interviews due to the study characteristic, which means the data start to be collected by the participants’ honest stories. Interested policies were extracted after in-depth interviews and transcription of interview contents, and subsequently, the subjects were determined and texts were interpreted based on their common experiences.
Study results are as follows.
Early childhood education policies in our country have been changed and developed for public educationalization of child education from 1980 to the present, covering the public child education expansion times, quality enhancement times, reformation drive times, settlement times and modernization times. Additionally, changes of teacher’s career were shown as survival times, growth times, maturity times, golden times and duality times.
