As biodiversity is rapidly reduced, the need of education program for conserving biodiversity is increasing. To develop more desirable biodiversity education programs for informal biodiversity education, we analyzed biodiversity education program operated by the National Institute of Biological Resources (NIBR) and surveyed participants'' opinion on the program. The contents of education program were analyzed based on the biodiversity content criteria and 136 people replied to the questionnaire with 15 questions. The results indicated that the contents of NIBR''s biodiversity education program dealt with biodiversity related to economics and ethics, as well as biology that students learn in school science class. However, evolution and classification contents were often treated with a relatively low frequency, which can be leading to biased thinking about biodiversity. Survey results showed that NIBR''s biodiversity education program offers more opportunities for various experiences and teaching methods than in schools but NIBR''s biodiversity education program contents should be specialized in biodiversity. Participants also represented that they recognized the importance and value of biodiversity when they participated NIBR''s biodiversity education program at least 5 times.
