본 연구는 국내에서 연구된 학대피해 아동 미술치료에 대한 논문들을 대상으로
연구동향을 파악하고 실험연구들에 대해 메타분석을 실시하여 미술치료의 효과를
검증하여 앞으로의 연구들과 치료현장에서 효과적으로 진행되게 하고자 자료를
제공하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 1996년부터 2020년 12월까지 국내에서 발
표된 석·박사학위 논문 29편과 학술지 논문 24편 총 53편의 학대피해 아동 연구
자료들을 수집하여 연구동향 분석을 실시하였고, 최종적으로 선정된 5편 논문의
26개 연구 결과에 대하여 메타분석을 실시하였으며, Meta-ANOVA를 이용하여
조절변수에 따른 효과크기의 차이를 분석하였다.
본 연구에 대한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 학대피해 아동 미술치료 연구동향은 1996년부터 2004년까지는 석사학위
논문 3편, 학술지 논문 5편으로 저조한 연구실적을 보였으나 2005년부터 꾸준히
증가해 왔다. 연령은 초등학생이 가장 많았으며, 학대유형으로는 방임이 가장 높
은 비중을 차지하였다. 주 사용 미술매체는 종이·바탕매체의 비중이 가장 높게 나
타났으며, 단일사례연구의 비율이 가장 높았다. 또한 측정도구로는 K-CBCL, 그
림검사는 HTP, KFD가 가장 많이 사용되었으며, 주 1회, 15∼19회기, 60∼89분
실시하는 것이 가장 높은 비중으로 나타났다.
둘째, 5편의 분석대상 논문에서 추출된 26개의 연구 결과들의 정적 효과 미술

치료 평균효과크기 1.146, 부적 효과 미술치료 평균효과크기 ?0.941로
Cohen(1988)의 해석기준에 따라 큰 효과크기를 나타내었다. 따라서 학대피해 아
동에게 미술치료프로그램이 도움이 될 것이라고 보여진다.
셋째, 학대피해 아동 정적 효과 미술치료의 변인별 효과크기 차이는 측정도구
에서 정서조절척도와 주당 시행 횟수에서 주 2회를 실시했을 때 가장 큰 효과크
기를 나타내었으며 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 중재유형
에 따른 효과크기 차이에서는 긍정정서가 가장 높은 효과크기가 나타났다.
넷째, 학대피해 아동 부적 효과 미술치료의 변인별 효과크기 차이는 학대유형
에서 신체적 학대, 주 사용 미술매체에서 혼합, 총 회기에서 20회기 이상인 경우
가장 큰 효과크기를 나타내었고 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났
다. 중재유형에 따른 효과크기 차이에서는 공격성이 가장 높은 효과크기가 나타
났다.
이러한 결과를 바탕으로 학대피해 아동 미술치료 연구 결과를 종합하고 미술치
료의 효과성을 검증하였으며 학대피해 아동을 위한 근거기반의 미술치료프로그램
운영과 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
