We, the modern, have lost our root that is the reality of the universal truth, which comes from the natural life. So our modern times is called lost age. We have had a longing for the natural life or nature as our modern's root.
In the modern, the medium of nature that is the motif for leading us to godhood in our inside is same worth of the mythologic world. Soweol's poetry has the special significance through the nature motif which is composed of his subjective nature with his lover sign, also his subjective homecountry with his local lost emotion, furthermore the objective nature with the ontologic lost emotion.
Soweol's poetry connoted in his subjective and the objective nature motives stands for his own sorrow, our national sorrow and the ontologic sorrow in this lost age. In the result, Soweol's poetry says that nature is a central matter of overcoming the modern and national difficulty. This is the evidence that Soweol's poetry also has the modernity as our modern poetry of the 1920s, as well as having the character of our tradition.
