The objectives of this study was to investigate the planting status of horticultural crops and management of tourism and weekend farms in the suburbs of Seoul. We obtained the following results.
1. The area ratio of horticultural crops to total farm area in tourism farm was very low, and horticultural plant garden which landed in lots to a member of tourism farm was also very small scale.
2. The majority of horticultural crops ill tourism and weekend farm was vegetable crops such as tomato, lettuce, chinese cabbage, red pepper, radish, strawberries, and etc. In one weekend and tourism farm, fruit tree was used in farm management. There was no weekend farms cultivating or planting floricultural plants.
3. Weekend farms located in the Seoul City had two types of crop cultivation; hydroponic or field culture. The area of hydroponic culture had a reducing tredeney because of insufficiency of hydroponic techniques and management problem in maintenance of hydroponic system.
4. For improvement of weekend and tourism farm's management, we discussed the importance of scale enlargement of horticultural crop cultivation(specially floricultural plant culture),more diverse culture type, flower events regard to season, and the application of organic farming method, etc.
