"Ecclesia reformata semper reformata" was a catchword Which the Reformed Church in 17th century claimed for the church renewal. If the church is not renewed, her influence will be diminished over the world. Turning to the 21st century, the Korean society confronts "cultural" transformation rather than the centennial change in the simple sense. While the Babyboomers and the Babybusters are gone, N (interNet) generation come in their place. They are the first generation which are raised with multimedia. They do everything through internet, such as study, game, communication, even shopping. N generation brings the societal change rapidly as follows: (1) The structure of organism changes from vertical to horizontal. In other words, the multimedia changes the Korean society from pyramidal structure to networking structure. (2) The way of communication changes from one-way communication to bi-communication. One-way communication through radio, newspaper, television set turns to two-way communication through internet. This brings the change of teaching method from broadcast learning to bi-communicational way of teaching. As the society confronts rapid change, the church will reflect its influence. Because the majority of the church congregation will be consisted of N generation in the near future. So new paradigm is required. The Scripture says new wine skin for new wine. New biblical concept concerning the church will be needed for the society which is transforming by new value system. How does the Scripture say about the structure of the church? It says that clergy and layman are not two different people of God, but they are one people of God. The Scripture does not say the pyramidal hierarchy, but the networking organism among congregation. It speaks of 0) the priesthood of all believers(2 Pet. 2:9), (2) one body of Christ(2 Cor. 12:12ff.), (3) a house church Cor. 16:19; Rom. 16:3, 5; Philemon 1:2; Col. 4:15); (4) the eqUlpping ministry of the saints(Eph. 4.12). The meta-church will be one of the best answers for the future church structure. It really is a house-based church in the biblical sense. The meta-church consists of lots of small groups which are respectively functioning as a small-size church. Within the meta-church group leader functions to equip group members for the church ministry, and group members take care and serve each other and share their lives.
