This essay aims to define the location of Sedal temple and explain how It is connected to the early powers of Goongyae, Many evidences show that Sedal temple is Heunggyo temple ill Youngwol, and the location of Sedal temple farm is Youngju area of KyungsangBukdo. In his youth, Goongyae was deeply influenced by merciful Buddha thought during his growing up in Sedal temple, which became the foundation of Ins thought Merciful Budda thought was his choice for the registance against the established social rules and a way for assembling anti-Silla powers The early supporting powers of Goongyae consists of Zen powers his chief advisor, Jong-Gan was a monk and his childhood friend from Sedal temple years, Sedal temple was under the influences of Gulsan Zen school of Myungju Myungju was under the reign of Heowol, who helped Goongyae to enter Myungju and increase his power. It is assumed that the anti-Silla sentiments and merciful Buddha thought combined them to help each other with little conflict. Another Zen power is Guipyung of Jeju He represented the temple power of Heungryung temple which is located very near Sedal temple. Therefore, the early supporting powers of Goongyae is deeply connected with Sedal temple of Youngwol, and their common Ideologies are ann-Slila sentiments and merciful buddha thought, And It can be concluded that the early supporting powers of Goongyae are temple powers connected with Seda1 temple of Youngwol.
