The struggle against the absolute monarchy since Tudor Dynasty,
finished with the result of The Glorious Revolution in 1688, and it caused the parliamentalism later. In order to defend The Glorious Revolution, John Locke published the 'Two Treatises of Government" in 1690. And he insisted on the new national form that legislative power should be prevailed by the agreement of the nation. His political theory was lack in logic, but it was famous for its briefness in showing the feeling against absolutism. Montesquieu was influenced by the division of powers of Locke, and Rousseau succeeded to Locke's the social contract.
And his ideas affected much in American Revolution and French Revolution.
Locke's political ideas was not his own selfcreation, for the political philosopher before Locke already described about the state of nature, law of nature and the social Contract. But this characteristic point in Locke's ideas lay hidden in that he harmonized his thought well and made it concordant with the reality of England at that time.
