Kim Dong Ni had wrote sixteen historical novels that derived the materials from『Sam Kuk Sagi』and『Sam Kuk Yusa』.
These novels had chosen much historical persons by the author’s intentional criterion. The persons in the novels are monks of Silla Dynasty and some confusions, some beautiful women, and military officers whom surroundings of the royal families in Silla Dynasty. But the author, Kim Dong Ni wrote about them not as the royalty or hierachic levels. He wrote about them as a common people in his novels. His literary conerning was about the ancient Silla and Kyungju in time and space. So, the characterization in his novels was tended intentionally to the common peoples in everyday life, not to the historical persons in the past. Accordingly, His historical novels have folkloristic narratives as we called, orality in literature. And also, transformed and extended his personal discourse to various narrative discourses from his imaginary and the discourse of desire.
