This paper is the study on Tae-jun Lee's writing style through his view of novel, authorial consciousness, and various literary techniques. From the research, we can see that he achieved his own consistent theories on literary techniques for creative writing in modern novels, which is represented as a actual literary work.
First of all, Tae-jun Lee creates characters based on his view of novel that short stories stay predominant over. He is especially good at circumstantial description. He writes in laconical style and creates his unique atmosphere through the form of conversation. Besides, he values the accuracy of expression with thorough and intelligible consciousness of language. Therefore, he creates characters of marked personality in characterization, and depicts backgrounds like nature based on his personal experiences. Tae-jun Lee composed in his characteristic words to have a command of the one and only language. And also, he emphasized the use of standard language but did not overlook dialect, so it gave reality in his writing. Consequently, Tae-jun Lee is a writer who shows us a model of writing in an aesthetic sense based on his clear self-consciousness, delicate and pure sensibility, and prominent artistic skill.
In conclusion, Tae-jun Lee writes in various literary techniques based on artistic authorial consciousness and view of novel that short stories stay predominant over. In result. he draws diverse aspects of writings, those are artisanal writing through the steady adaptation, kaleidoscopic writing putting character portrayal first, sensuous writing based on unique and autonomous consciousness of language, and aesthetic writing through the ironical literary techniques.
In this paper, we confirmed that authorial consciousness and view of novels hold a key post in process to take the shape of literary work, especially bringing work to aesthetic perfection. Through the consideration of his various writing style based on pure artisanal spirit, this study would be a groundwork for understanding Tae-jun Lee's writing consciousness and literary techniques more thoroughly and systematically.
