This paper aims to consider the Time-cognition of the main characters in Lee Chung-jun's novel of artist, and then, consider his philosophical Time-cognition and viewpoint on art. There is a questions of 'Time' in relation to the modern 'representation' in the very root of the main character's trouble. This is the very topic he purposed in his novel of artist which caused by his thorough reflection on the modern concept of time and representaionalism.
Lee Chung-jun's works do not have simply modern-critique. Because between the pre-modern nostalgia and post-modern intention, there is the center of gravity which made by the essential and concrete skepticism to modern representation. As aforesaid, he stepped into the the post-modern speculation by reflecting on the modern term of 'Time' and the tradition of representation. In other words, 'memory' which stood on the deferred effect (Nachtrglichkeit) would recovered by the novelistic language, and reflecting on the clarity of 'language', and then, bring the essential question about the representative works of artistic subject. On this foundation, he criticized 'projection' and 'perspective', the central principle of modern epistemology, and pursuited 'unexchangeable' value of art and the shape of artistic 'mimesis'. These are authorities of the peculiar value on historical and philosophical value of Lee Chung-jun's novel of artist.
