“Comfort women” means military sexual slavery as a salient event of history in the late period of the Japanese Imperialist ruled Korean peninsula had been considered as a kind of trauma for victims. History and fiction as a narrative focus on comfort women could made those times for readers to partage. Especially novels as a fiction could reappeared memories which the speaker remixed time and the self.
There were published three novels in Korea about Korean comfort women. Those are《The Pupil of The Eye in the dawn》(1975) written by Kim Sung Jong, 《Your Mom’s Name Was ChosunBee》(1982) written by Yun Geong Mo and 《Fly With Gold Colored Wings》(2006) written by Go Hae Geong. There were published four novels in America and France about Korean comfort women too. Therese Park wrote《A Gift of the Emperor》(1997), Nora Okja Keller wrote 《Comfort Woman》(1997) and Chang-rae Lee wrote《Gesture Life》(1999) in America. And Juliette Morillot wrote《Les Orchids Rouges de Shanghai》(2001) in France.
In《Fly with Gold Color Wing》(2006) and《Les Orchids Rouges de Shanghai》 (2001), main character as a speaker describes his/her experiences as comfort woman’s life story in present time. There is no a big different thing between history about comfort women and novels. But《Comfort Woman》(1997) and 《Gesture Life》(1999) describes main character’s memory with readers. So those things could made for the readers to partage. Partage means to participate and to sympathy for outsiders of those times. That is the peculiarity of fiction as a narrative of memory in order to make time of human being’s.
