The musical characteristics in Gyeongsang-do Province is well-known for menari t'ori. The structure of its sound is composed of mi sol la do' (re') which has a propensity to be regulated by menari t'ori.
The Southwestern area of Gyeongsang-namdo province of Korea adjacent to Jula-do, has very strong yukjabaegi t'ori features. Its sound is composed of mi (sol) la (si) do' re' (mi'). Generally the sound of Gyeongsang-do Province is keeping five musical scales which is mi sol la do' (re'), but due to the strong influence of yukjabaegi t'ori features, the sound is becoming weaker and the passing tone 'sol' was omitted from the final melody 'la so mi' as you go further to the Northwestern area of Gyeongsang-bukdo Province. The Northwestern area of Gyeongsang-bukdo Province is close to the Soback mountain range beyond which there is a border with Gangwoen-do. So the sound of the Northwestern area of Gyeongsang-bukdo Province is influenced by the sound 'Arari' of Gangwon-do Province in the respect of account and music.
According to the standard of music and beat, the beat structure is divided into Sobak-Jangdan, Botongbak-Jangdan, Daebak-Jangdan and Daedaebak-Jangdan, Sobak-Jangdan with the fast meter has very clear meter, on the contrary the left Jangdans have the uneven beat structure rather than the even beat structure. Especially Daebak-Jangdan and Daedaebak-Jangdan is composed of uneven beat structure without orders as they go with more slower rhythm. That is to say, these Jangdans does not maintain a fixed meter, instead they combine with different kinds of meters, and make the music change very differently, the mostly sung beat structure among the sounds from the field work in Gyeongsang-do Province as Daebak structure belongs to 2 Sobak and 12 meter of Jungmori-Jangdan.
If we study menari t'ori of Eastern area of Korea by different areas, we can know that the sounds of the Southwestern area of Gyeong-nam province of Korea is influenced by yukjabaegi t'ori of Southwestern area of Korea, and the sound of western area of Gyeong-buk province of Korea is influenced by 'Arari'.
