The Purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between participation motivation and job satisfaction of public service works' participation in sports activity on on 5-days a week working. The accomplish the purpose of this study, 328 public service workers who participated sports activities from Inchon City Hall and 8 district offices of Inchon City were surveyed by means of the revise questionnaires, initially developed by Beard & Ragheb, and used by Yoo. The content validity and reliability of questionnaire was determined by a pilot study. The reliability coefficient for questionnaire was found to be a α=.739~.912 and α=.863.
The used statistical methods for the data analysis were frequency analysis, factor analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and multiple regression. For all analyses an alpha level of .05 were used for the research question.
The major findings obtained from this study were following:
First, there was significant difference between male and female of public service works who participated sports activities with respect to participation motivation as health, family and social oriented.
Second, there was significant difference among age different groups of public service works who participated sports activities with respect to participation motivation as health and family oriented.
Third, types of sports activities significantly influenced the job satisfaction with respect to types of sport activity, frequency and carer.
Fourth, participation motivation significantly influenced the job satisfaction with respect to health, family and social oriented.
